Our Physio Pilates classes are designed to increase your awareness of how the core muscles (your centre) in your body can work most efficiently to enhance your efficiency of movement and reduce your risk of injury. Each class provides education and a range of levels to make them accessible to people of all abilities.
Adding resistance to your Pilates routine provides diversity and variation to the workout. The two benefits you receive are enhancing feedback from your muscles to ensure you’re using them correctly, and making certain muscle groups work harder in an exercise. Both these benefits will only enhance the benefit of your workout. In this express class we show you how you can use resistance for most muscle groups in the body.
Adding resistance to exercises should only be done whilst still being able to maintain adequate control through your centre, so please ensure you are not doing these exercises in a way that is unsafe for your body.
