Pilates exercises are traditionally thought to only be done on a mat or using more advanced Reformer machines. However there are a multitude of exercises that can be done in standing, kneeling and on all-fours that can challenge your core and other muscles in different and unique ways.
In this class we’re “moving off the mat” and exploring some of these exercises, many of which involve positions that we would naturally find ourselves in throughout the course of a normal day, meaning they may be more functionally practical for us. Adding these exercises to your standard Pilates routines will give you a broader and more rounded experience that will activate and strengthen these key functional muscle groups.
