The plantar fascia is a thick layer of connective tissue on the underside of the foot. It frequently becomes tight, often with no apparent cause, and is the primary contributor to ‘plantar fasciitis’, a condition where the fascia in the foot becomes inflamed and aggravated. Excessive weight-bearing activity and fallen arches have both been linked to this condition.
Assessment of your condition by a health professional is recommended if you are experiencing plantar fasciitis or just tightness of the plantar fascia in general, to avoid worsening of the condition.
Using the spiky ball as shown in the video above can help to give relief of plantar fascia tightness, and may help to keep painful symptoms at bay until a longer term solution can be found if necessary.
