Class descriptions:

Hatha/Vinyasa

This class combines many styles of yoga – you can expect Hatha, Vinyasa flow and Forrest Yoga. Class includes breath work, effective core exercises, safe alignment focus, intelligence sequence, mindful movements and some long-hold which allows time for the mind and the body to connect at the deeper level. Our experienced teachers provide plenty of options so the class suits all levels, all ages and people with the injuries, ensuring that everybody enjoys the practice within their own ability.

Vinyasa Flow

A dynamic style of yoga that synchronises movement with breath, with a focus on alignment and creating stability in your yoga poses.  Build strength, flexibility, mobility while cultivating your sense of mindfulness and awareness. A vinyasa is a smooth transition between asanas (positions).

Yin

A slow-paced style of modern yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time—for beginners, it may range from 45 seconds to two minutes; more advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more.

Yin Yoga poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body—the tendons, fascia, and ligaments—with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. A more meditative approach to yoga, its goals are awareness of inner silence, and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality.

Japanese/Ki

Japanese yoga is based on Hatha yoga and incorporates elements of Eastern medicine such as the principles of yin and yang and the 5-element theory, as well as elements of modern exercise science and elements from Martial arts. It is a therapeutic and dynamic form of yoga that will challenge even the fittest of participants. It is suitable for all levels of fitness and experience.

Japanese yoga is at the opposite end of the spectrum to yin yoga – movements are fast and dynamic, and involve quite a workout to various muscle groups in the body.
